The fourth workshop of the EC Horizon project ‘TECHNO-CLS’ is being held at ATOMKI on October 12 and 13, 2026. The workshop will bring together members of the TECHNO-CLS consortium to discuss the progress in developing the Crystal-based Light Sources (CLS) technology and to engage with key stakeholders in the future development of CLS.
The TECHNO-CLS project aims to achieve a breakthrough in the technologies needed for the design and practical realisation of novel gamma-ray Light Sources operating at photon energies from ~100 keV up to the GeV range, which can be constructed by exposing oriented crystals (linear, bent and periodically bent) to the beams of ultra-relativistic charged particles.
Atomki’s experience in gamma ray detectors provides a natural host for the meeting and Atomki staff are involved in a complimentary EC Horizon project PRISMA (Post-irradiation multiscale dynamics of materials) and COST Action INDICO which aims at providing roadmap for practical realisation of computational Multiscale Modelling (MM) used in the TECHNO-CLS project.
